Applying the PDCA Cycle in Safety Training – Building the Foundation for Effective Operations and Maintenance at PESE

Behind every successful operation and maintenance project lies a workforce committed to responsibility, professionalism, and strict compliance with electrical safety principles. At PESE, these values guide every task performed in the field.

All field personnel are trained and required to comply with electrical safety regulations under our ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System. This enables PESE to proactively identify, control, and mitigate workplace risks while ensuring that operation and maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and reliably.

For this reason, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is regarded as one of the fundamental pillars supporting all production, operation, and maintenance activities across the company.

To ensure that training programs deliver practical and measurable results, PESE applies the PDCA (Plan – Do – Check – Act) continuous improvement cycle to its safety training programs.

PDCA training at PESE

1. Plan

  • Anticipate workplace hazards and assess operational risks.
  • Develop training programs tailored to regulatory requirements and job-specific conditions.
  • Implement training in accordance with Decree No. 44/2016/NĐ-CP and relevant safety standards.

2. Do

  • Conduct safety training for electrical operation and maintenance activities.
  • Provide guidance on the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Deliver emergency response and incident management training.

3. Check

  • Assess employee competency and knowledge retention following training.
  • Verify compliance with safety requirements at work sites.
  • Monitor and document safe work practices during operations.

4. Act

  • Analyze unsafe behaviors and potential hazards.
  • Update training programs based on operational experience and lessons learned.
  • Continuously strengthen and promote a company-wide safety culture.

Through the application of the PDCA cycle, PESE not only complies with legal requirements and international standards but also develops a continuously improving training system that aligns with specific job functions and actual operating conditions.

As a result, PESE's core business activities—including Operations & Maintenance (O&M), mechanical manufacturing, and industrial services—are delivered by competent personnel who adhere to established procedures and place safety at the center of every task. This approach helps minimize risks, enhance system reliability, and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

At PESE, we believe the effectiveness of training is not measured by the number of courses conducted, but by the safe behaviors demonstrated every day in the field. Our goal is to transform safety knowledge into daily practice, procedures into actions, and safety culture into an integral part of our corporate identity.

For PESE, safety is not a destination—it is a continuous improvement journey that creates sustainable value for our employees, customers, and the energy projects we proudly support.
