PESE Invests in IRATA Level 1 Training to Strengthen Wind Power O&M Capabilities

As part of its commitment to technical workforce development and safe working practices at height, PECC2 Energy Services and Engineering Co., Ltd. (PESE) has nominated engineers and technical personnel to participate in IRATA Level 1 rope access training. This initiative is a practical step toward strengthening the team’s capabilities in inspection, maintenance, and servicing of wind power facilities.

Developing Capabilities to Meet Operational Demands

In the wind power sector, inspection and maintenance activities often take place at height and in difficult-to-access locations. These tasks require a combination of technical expertise, practical skills, and effective risk management. Developing a workforce equipped to meet these demands is therefore essential to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

With experience providing O&M services across energy projects totaling more than 4,400 MW, including over 1,700 MW of wind power capacity, PESE recognizes that technical training must align with actual project requirements and the Company’s service development strategy.

By enrolling personnel in the IRATA Level 1 training programme, PESE is taking a practical step toward expanding its technical team’s rope access skills and supporting work at locations where this method is appropriate.

Strengthening Practical Skills and Safety Discipline

IRATA Level 1 is the entry-level qualification within IRATA International’s rope access training and certification system. The programme covers equipment use and inspection, rope access techniques, hazard identification, and compliance with applicable safety requirements.

Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical exercises, trainees develop the skills needed to perform rope access manoeuvres, coordinate with team members, and respond to situations within the scope of their training. Under IRATA requirements, Level 1 technicians carry out tasks appropriate to their level of competence under the supervision of an IRATA Level 3 technician.

For PESE, the value of this training extends beyond technical proficiency. It also reinforces disciplined working practices, including pre-use equipment inspections, compliance with approved work plans, hazard identification and reporting, and close coordination throughout each task. These practices are essential to applying newly acquired skills safely and effectively in real project environments.

Investing in People to Enhance Service Value

The IRATA Level 1 training programme forms part of PESE’s broader approach to technical workforce development. When combined with maintenance expertise and hands-on project experience, rope access capabilities can help strengthen the team’s ability to undertake inspection and maintenance tasks in difficult-to-access locations.

Through this initiative, PESE continues to invest in practical workforce capabilities, enhance operational readiness, and progressively improve the quality of its wind power O&M services.

Developing people, strengthening technical capabilities, and upholding safety discipline are fundamental to PESE’s commitment to long-term customer partnerships and the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of energy assets.
